Getting to The Green Park Hotel Taksim, Step by Step

The hotel is at Abdulhak Hamit Caddesi No: 34 in the Talimhane blocks just above Taksim Square. Both airports, the metro, the funicular and the ferry piers all funnel into that square, so every route below ends with the same short walk.

Quick verdict: from Istanbul Airport take the M11 metro and change once; from Sabiha Gokcen take the Havabus shuttle. With heavy luggage or a late landing, book a fixed-price door-to-door car with Transfelo instead and skip the transfers entirely.

From Istanbul Airport (IST) by metro

  1. Follow the metro signs inside the terminal. The M11 station sits below arrivals; buy an Istanbulkart at the machines there, since one card can pay for your whole group.
  2. Ride the M11 to Gayrettepe. The end-to-end run takes about 30 minutes according to the airport metro guide; official line details are on istairport.com.
  3. Change to the M2 at Gayrettepe. Follow the transfer signs; take the M2 in the Yenikapi direction.
  4. Get off at Taksim, three stops later, after Sisli-Mecidiyekoy and Osmanbey.
  5. Walk four minutes to the hotel. Exit toward Taksim Square, cross to the Talimhane side and walk up Abdulhak Hamit Caddesi to No: 34.

From Istanbul Airport by Havaist coach

  1. Go to the Havaist bays on the arrivals level and find the coach signed for Taksim.
  2. Pay with Istanbulkart or card and stow luggage below; the Istanbul Insider's route guide estimates around 40 minutes without traffic, longer at peak hours, per theistanbulinsider.com.
  3. Alight at the Taksim stop beside the square; the hotel is the same four-minute Talimhane walk as above.

From Sabiha Gokcen (SAW)

  1. Easiest: take the Havabus shuttle direct to Taksim. Departures run roughly every half hour through the day; the current timetable and fares are published at havabus.com and on the official airport page. The drop-off is beside Taksim Square.
  2. Rail alternative: M4 metro to Ayrilik Cesmesi. Board the M4 at the airport station and ride toward Kadikoy.
  3. Change to Marmaray at Ayrilik Cesmesi and cross under the Bosphorus to Yenikapi.
  4. Change to the M2 at Yenikapi and ride to Taksim; the full rail route takes about 1 hour 20 minutes according to Rome2rio's route data.
  5. Finish with the Talimhane walk up Abdulhak Hamit Caddesi to the hotel door.

Arriving from the old city or the ferries

From Sultanahmet, ride the T1 tram to its Kabatas terminus, then take the F1 funicular one stop up to Taksim Square. The funicular shares the Istanbulkart system, and the whole connection is underground, which matters in the rain. The same works in reverse for reaching the water, as covered in the Kabatas ferry guide.

Private transfers and taxis

A pre-booked transfer makes sense for night arrivals, families with luggage, and anyone landing at Sabiha Gokcen on the Asian side, where the public route involves two changes. Transfelo quotes a fixed price for the run to Beyoglu hotels at booking time, with a driver meeting you in arrivals. Licensed yellow taxis wait at ranks at both airports; insist on the meter.
